I believe the athletic department at UTC is poised to take some very meaningful strides in the near future, and I want to be a part of those successes. UTC is a great university, located in a wonderful city, and I want to help bring in the best student-athletes possible to make UTC the premier mid-major athletic program in the southeast.
Since the late-90’s. I was enthralled with the Sweet Sixteen basketball run in 1997. I was in high school in Knoxville at the time, and the when our basketball team got to choose new uniforms the following year, we picked the same style that the Mocs wore during that historic run.
My favorite Mocs fan memory was when UTC beat The College of Charleston to win the ’09 SoCon Basketball Tournament here in Chattanooga. I yelled so much throughout the game, I couldn’t talk the next day at work.
I’m very passionate about community development and education policy. I feel that Chattanooga’s best days are ahead of us. I’m lucky to live in such a dynamic city that has so much energy and potential.
Not a week goes by when I don’t visit Champy’s Famous Fried Chicken on MLK. I don’t even need a menu: Two-piece white meat with fries and coleslaw!
Young donors get the chance to watch their contributions make a difference over the long haul. We get to grow with the Athletic Department and see how our support changes the program for the better.
It would be interesting to hear the random thoughts that would run through Cormac McCarthy’s head in one sitting.
